It's certainly been a banner year for Missouri Athletics and on the heels of strong showings from Tiger Baseball, Softball and Men's Track and Field at the national level this spring, Missouri finished 38th in the final U.S. Sports Academy's Directors' Cup standings (formerly known as the Sears Directors' Cup) released Thursday afternoon by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics.

The Missouri men's and women's swim teams wrapped up their final meet before the Olympic Team Trials this past weekend, competing in the CSC Summer Invitational hosted by the Columbia Swimming Club and held at the Mizzou Aquatic Center. The meet was the final chance for swimmers to qualify for the U.S. Olympic Team Trials, beginning Sunday, June 29, and running through Sunday, July 6.

Missouri Swimming and Diving Head Coach Brian Hoffer announced the Tigers' schedule for the upcoming 2008-09 season on Wednesday. Both the men's and women's teams will have some tough competition this season, including meets against a pair of top-25 powerhouses.

The Missouri men's and women's swim teams completed the final two days of the 2008 USA Swimming Mutual of Omaha Swimvitational this past weekend, concluding the four days of competition. The event, which featured Olympians such as Katie Hoff and Michael Phelps, was the final tune up before the 2008 Olympic Team Trials, which will be held later this month.

The Missouri swimming team wrapped up their first day at the 2008 USA Swimming Mutual of Omaha Swimvitational, with senior Lori Halvorson (Tulsa, Okla.) qualifying from the Olympic Team Trials early in the day, while both the men's and women's 4 x 100m freestyle relay teams posted impressive runs to cap off the evening.

Mizzou (5-1, 1-1) travels to Austin, Texas, where they'll take on the nation's #1-ranked Texas Longhorns (6-0, 2-0) Saturday night at 7 p.m. The game will be shown nationally on ABC.

Missouri opened play in the Price's Give `em Five on Monday in Las Cruces, N.M. and stands in a tie for 10th place. Junior Julia Potter had the best round of the day for the Tigers, carding a one-over-par 73 on Monday to put her in a tie for fifth place.
